Lazy Butt

by Eko Prasetyo @ 6:04 PM

Which is mine.
Gee.
Work is hard.
Work for money.
Work for food.
Work...to live?

I really need to enjoy my work.

Well, I should have been doing simulation, but hey, it's weekend and all my mental nerves are aching...so I need some rest.

And add it to the fact that data needed for my simulations are not good enough...so there, I have excuse...hopefully it will be good enough..

Yow

by Eko Prasetyo @ 6:23 PM

Please God, I think I need some suspended time for myself...a pocket of static time in the everflowing and overengulfing rush of time...please, for my sanity's sake...

I mean...between still thinking about my arts, my ideas, my unhatched stories, my everpushing work, and two very demanding juniors, my sanity has been taking a back seat and threatened to be extinct...

Well, one more thing: spouse.

That's the hardes problem for me.

Spouse.

Problem.

Or Problems?

Hey

by Eko Prasetyo @ 8:41 PM

Dude, where has the "BlogThis!" capability of Blogger gone? I mean, I have been pressing the "BlogThis!" button on my Opera to no avail. Gee, that's the second very powerful function that has been removed by Blogger, hot on the trail of the lost "Date Manipulating Sticky Posting" trick.

And dude, office live is tough, especially if you are alone with a boss, a somewhat confusing senior, and 2 question-shooting juniors. Phew, thanks God a new PC is the gift for handling those 2 juniors.

Wait, a Gift? New PC set whichs monitor is less flat than the oldd one? New PC? Is that mean reinstalling of all those applications that has been making my PC my PC?
Gee...that means more things to do.

And still, there are those 2 juniors...and those 2 service companies...and those 2 contracts to supervise..

Gee...

The Thing is..

by Eko Prasetyo @ 6:52 PM

...I think the horrors are part of the things I need to purge from the course of my life. I need to purge the fears out of my systems, to master how to purge fear, and to put fear to good use.

Only when I know how to master will I truly be master of myself.

Let's do it together !!

Phew

by Eko Prasetyo @ 7:25 AM

Still unable to shake up my fear on imaginated horrors around my house.
Still unable to sleep properly.

What should I do?
I mean, if this continues on, I'll no longer have peaceful nights, having to continously feel the fear all night.

Ached

by Eko Prasetyo @ 6:41 AM

Muscle stiffened and strained
Mind clouded and unclear
Stomach starved and screamed
A morning, a day after the purgatory started

It feels painful
It feels relieving
It is borderline masochist
But in truth, it is fully liberating

Into The Purgatory

by Eko Prasetyo @ 8:12 AM

The latest 6 months have been a full torment for me.
And still I am unable to find myself a path on which I can continue my life.
I know a path, but hesitant to take it.
It will burn me in a purgatory fire,
and it will change me whole.
I know i will survive the fire, but I don't know if I can survive the world without burning those around me.

It's the calling. It says my role as a watcher must end, and my role as crafter must take place.
But first, the fire of purgatory....

The net connection was still absurd back home. Damn

ARGH!!

by Eko Prasetyo @ 7:41 AM

Internet down at home,
Marketiva can't be connected at office
It seems all of my virtual life is in a grim prospect.
Sigh.

Anyway, last night, there were only 3 people left in my big house: me, my 15 year old cousin, and a rather disfunctional aunt.
And somehow, I turned into a coward, unable to sleep if all is silence and the all lights are off.
If you have read that I have heard some "ghostly" sounds around my home before, you'll understand about it.

And I have this unshakable feelings that I should quit my job because I have to pursue a career in comics and upgrading my skills in Arts instead. One reason why I haven't focused on that: the money is less promising than my current job as an engineer.

Oh, the economy of Indonesia..only singers and movie stars count as profitable artists....

The Day Oil Reigns

by Eko Prasetyo @ 8:25 PM

Crude oil price hit US$70.00.
Well done Dubya, you've done it.
Congrats, Ahmad, you've made it.
Congrats, Greedy Ones, you put us in a state of ruin.

Isn't it time for the entire world to work as one instead of being eaten by singular greed for oil?

Went office with legs muscles still aching after long climb to reach a waterfall area in Cibodas on Saturday, and sleeping for 2 nights on a hard, stoned ground.
Well, I am unable to post my camping experiences faster because the internet connection at my home is quite misbehaving at these last days. It keeps on disconnected for long times.
To see some beautiful photos of the view around Cibodas, check my STRIVESTUDIO

Sliding Playboy

by Eko Prasetyo @ 8:38 PM

Motorcycles are the dominators of Jakarta street. They speed, they cruise, the slid, they pass between cars, they violate traffic light, they give no turning signal, and they blow their horn every now and then.
They symbolize the things that are wrong in Jakarta: No road ethics, no mercy, no remorse, and no limit in how fast you can get to your target.
Most importantly: no trust to unreliable public transportation choices.
I use public tranportations. I can sleep in them and don't have to fight the onslaught of two wheeled raging machines riding another two wheeled raging machines.
Beside, I don't have enought focus duration needed to drive a machine. I have ADD.

Now, let's talk about Playboy.
April 7th, 2006, Indonesian version of Playboy was issued, no naked ladies, minimal lingerie shots, red and black cover.
April 13th, 2006, The publisher are removed from their office's landlord, A city ban the magazine, and things are getting worse for them.
There are Draft of an Antipornographic Law being protested by artists and free-expressionists and supported left and right by religious and common people.
There are other "swimsuits", "men's lifestyles", and "artistic photography" magazines which have been circulated for years in Indonesia.
There are "borderline pornographic" tabloids being circulated in Indonesia.

Is Playboy (Indonesian Edition) a victim of mass religious enlightment or local "males and dykes targeting" magazines conspiracy?

Is Playboy rejection a start of the end for "Female Figures Centered" Businesses?

Or are we, the common news-reader, are the victim of high level conspiracy to raise the demand for Playboy?

Red and Black. Playboy. Colors of premature death?

Bite

by Eko Prasetyo @ 6:55 PM

Saw something interisting today: two little girls are playing. As they were giggling, one girl put her index finger inside her friend, challenging her friend to bite it. The friend bite it, and the two girls are still giggling (one of them do a "giggle-while-biting" giggle, go figures!). A giggle changed into a cry once the biter bite harder, and still the biter girl giggle, thinking that her friend's cry was just an expression of momentary shock.
Her cry was continuing as I walked away after seeing that the biter still bite the crier despite her cry went louder and clearly showing signs of being in pain.
I don't know what happened next, but this event suddenly gave me a philosophical questions:

Are we like those little girls, playing some dangerous games till some of us cry, and some of us think it's just part of the game?

Innocent as they are, will one little girl brand her friend as tormentor forever?

Deception

by Eko Prasetyo @ 8:29 PM

USA. Iran. Venezuela.
All are oil exporters.
All will benefit from a rise in Oil price.
USA has been badmouthing Iran and Venezuela.
Venezuela has been ass kicking USA.
Iran has been giving the finger to USA.
All the while the Oil price rises.
The ones who take profits?
USA. Iran. Venezuela.

'Nuff said.

Still continuing my adventure on Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
This game turns out very challenging. There are several quests I haven't finished simply because:
a. my character's level is not high enough to meet the challenge ahead,
b. there are several items, notably the potion of healing and potion of sorcery, which is important to keep me alive during the quests but even the stores have them in short stocks.

About the quests itself, the game is far advanced compared to generic storytelling of many RPGs out there. Take one example: A problem with rats turn out to be invasions of some mountain lions, and perhaps invasion of private properties. A missing painter case turn out to be perhaps the biggest challenge for all RPG players ever. Quests in Oblivion are nicely arranged and very nicely conveived, that even when you're a veteran RPG players, you'll be surprised while progressing in each quests.

And this game is so far different than its predecessor, Morrowind in term of gameworld, whereas Morrowind offers a mix of swampy landscape, barren and ashen mountain terrain, and green hills, Oblivion offers green forest, fertile hills, and beautiful landscapes through and through.

In short, so far, Oblivion is an eye candy for you who loves to travel freely in a game world.

The Day Robot Dog Walks

by Eko Prasetyo @ 10:28 AM

Read this and be afraid. The era of Mobile Suits and Metal Gears may soon be coming, if the projected 8 years target is achieved.

Hmm..where will it be first deployed? Iran? China? Bangladesh?

Indonesia's Papua?

God knows.

Return of The Fat

by Eko Prasetyo @ 8:20 AM

No more dieting.
It is confirmed that dieting is bad for my brain, mood, and soul.
It made me a less living person.
It made me losing my muses.
It made me half the person I am (in term of activities)
No more dieting.
I'll just do carb intake halving.
That'll do!!

No Day of Oblivion

by Eko Prasetyo @ 8:48 PM

It's the day of an Ice Age 2:Meltdown instead.
It's a cool movie, cool and hilarious, with some rather cliche ideas with rather fresh twists.
And the balance between being funny and being entertainment is good, with an overall high enjoyable watching.
It's a cool movie, so GO SEE IT!!

And next: Silent Hill The Movie !!

More on Oblivion

by Eko Prasetyo @ 7:00 AM

Killed Goblins, got a book on top of a mountain from a charred body, got first job done for fighters guild, made friends with guards and common folks, obtained first clue about the elusive Gray Fox, continued my life in Oblivion.

Unlike Vradenfell, Cyrodiil is full of green and deers and wolves and less highwaymen than there. It's also more beautiful cause greens are everywhere...

Days of OBLIVION: End?

by Eko Prasetyo @ 7:19 PM

Hmm..why do I feel bored already by Oblivion? Is it because I am tired already by my workhours and unable to truly enjoy OBLIVION? Or is it because I have other thoughts in mind (finding a spouse has been dominating my mind lately...)

Can't have it that my joy of OBLIVION must end so soon....

On Oblivion (more of it)

by Eko Prasetyo @ 7:05 AM

Continued pacing through lands around Cyrodiil, liberated Kvatch and skewered some Scamps and made 3 Legion Soldiers died in the process, carry Martin Septim (the suspected heir to the throne) to the Cloud Ruler Temple (awesome temple high above the mountain, Tibet style), and turned some Goblin into farm tenure (and unable to avoid one boy's death).

So far, this game is more streamlined in gameplay, but added more perks in the skills and quest completing.

Cool game, nevertheless. Wait for more

The Second Oblivious Day

by Eko Prasetyo @ 8:31 PM

Oooh, my second day venturing inside OBLIVION...
I tried my luck and fate in The Arena, and I am able to elevate myself to the rank of Bloodletter after fighting a pair of Wood Elf Twins, a Berserker Khajiit (Puss in Boots with NASTY AXE), and a Rampaging Redguard.
I also did my part on shutting off an Oblivion Gate, by pummeling some Dremora Churls and their pet Stunted Scamps.

I also have a feeling that I need a boost of DDR-SDRAM..at least 512 MB more...the same problem when I played Morrowind for the first time: memory limitation

The Day Oblivion Comes

by Eko Prasetyo @ 7:42 AM

Bought me a copy of Elder Scrolls IV:OBLIVION, and already I feel ensnared by the temptation to throw myself into Oblivious life it will create for me. A fun Oblivion, to be sure, if I don't have a job :)

April Fool's Day

by Eko Prasetyo @ 5:29 PM

Boo.
Nuff said.

Fooled You!!

I think I'll say more.

Been watching Syriana, Crash, and A History of Violence on DVDs.
Syriana is the worst of three in term of enjoyment. I mean, the plot is slow, the storytelling is half-hearted, and the climax is questionable. Still, it has guts to tell about oil-related conspiracy and it has Matt Damon and George Clooney in it (together with a bunch of old, conspiracy type actors. It even has one negro actress that resembles Condoleeza "Moslemicide Mistress" Rice).

Crash. Wow, this one won Oscar. With all of that twisting, all star casts, brave venture into the racial war territory, and strong characterization and nice storytelling and cinematography, this one is a DEFINITIVE WINNER !!

A History of Violence. Although the theme migh sounds familiar to moviegoers, the movie still offers something. Interesting cinematography, calm but dangerous pace, switching back and forth between action and family drama scenes, and nicely done gore are all this movie is about. Emphasize on interisting cinematography.

Oh yeah, I also watched Pride and Prejudice. It's what I would call "Victorian Romantic Drama Comedy", catchy, entertaining, and lighthearted without losing substances. And man, Kiera is simply GORGEOUS.

Well, Still got Underworld Evolution to wathc. Hope this one has some meat in it and not just blood. Lycanths and Vampires. White-wolf anyway?
