Richest Men

by Eko Prasetyo @ 8:22 PM

Read this, and you'll soon realize how you have been tricked by overprices.

Yes, you're enriching billionaires everytime you buy microsoft Windows or microsoft Office. Yes, you're robbed by celebrities each time you're paying your monthly charge for Yahoo! premium services. And yes, you're helping dictators to stay in powers everytime you use Internet Explorer.

Stop buying microsoft. They're rich already!!

Untouchable

by Eko Prasetyo @ 5:42 PM

Have you ever felt, that your love is for someone,
in your knowledge she is not alone,
even when your love cant' be returned,
but your love is still for her..

Pernahkah kamu merasakan, bahwa
kamu sanggup melakukan apa saja demi seseorang yang kamu cintai,
meski kamu tahu ia takkan pernah peduli ataupun
ia peduli dan mengerti, tapi ia tetap pergi

Have you ever felt that,
None you are not capable of for the one you love,
although she will never care or,
she cares and understand but still left

Pernahkah kamu merasakan hebatnya cinta,
tersenyum kala terluka, menangis kala bahagia,
bersedih kala bersama, tertawa kala berpisah

Have you ever touched the greatness of love,
smile when you're scarred, cry when you're blessed,
sad when you're together, laugh when you're apart

I have

Once I smiled even though I was wounded because I believe
God made her not for me

I once cried when I'm happy, out of fear
this happiness will just fade

Aku pernah tertawa saat berpisah dengannya,
karena sekali lagi, cinta tak harus memiliki, dan
Tuhan pasti telah menyiapkan cinta yang lain untukku

I once laughed when I was separated from her
Cause once more, love doens't mean having, and
God has prepared another love for me

I once mourned when I was with her, cause I was afraid
I'd lose her once and..

I can still love her,
Even though I can't put her inside my embrace,
'cause love is inside the soul

Blogging or Dogging

by Eko Prasetyo @ 5:40 AM

Read this article here.

It seems with the growth of 100000 (one hundred thousands) blogs each day, the majority of the world still has no idea what blogging means.

Make you realize that the real number of citizens of the earth is somewhat uncountable, isn't it ?

The Man Who Thinks He Can

by Eko Prasetyo @ 9:06 AM

If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you won’t.
If you like to win, but don’t think you can,
It’s almost a cinch you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose, you’ve lost.
For out in the world you’ll find
Success begins with a fellow’s will;
It’s all in a state of mind.

If you think you’re outclassed, you are;
You’ve got to think higher to rise.
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can win a prize.

Think big and your deeds will grow.
Think small and you’ll fall behind.
Think that you can, and you will.
It’s all in a state of mind.

Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger, faster man;
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the fellow who thinks he can.

Loan Conspiracy

by Eko Prasetyo @ 5:21 AM

Indonesia is one of the biggest country in term of borrowed loans. Each year, the government of my country received millions in dollar in many forms: soft loans, develelopment loans, gifts, and other type of loans.

The weight of paying back loans is the majority of Indonesia's budget.

Now, what I have been thinking about is this: will the creditors will to give more loans if Indonesia's natural resources run out?

Why do I think like this? That's because I believe the loans are ways to keep the government's mouth shut and to keep the business collusions between foreign business entities and Indonesia's government, that have been running freely, going.

Indonesian people are the most corrupted people in the world. Majority of them will let themselves screwed by others if the money is right. There are so many examples in my day to day live that show that many people got fooled by small amount of money.

Some of the poorest can be told to do gang wars between them if you pay them 2 US dollars.

Now, take a look at the fact that it doesn't seem to matter to the creditors that Indonesia is one of the most corrupted country in the world. They somehow aware that the money they give to Indonesia in form of loans will not go as intented:to help the people and the development of Indonesia. The major fraction of the money will go into the personal pockets of Indonesia's top officials instead, and the creditors has been showing, in general, that they don't mind.

This knowledge of the ongoing corruptions and the steady flow of loans can only mean one thing: things has been happening between the government of Indonesia and the creditors.

I believe those things are form of collusions to keep the foreigners dominations over Indonesia's natural resources left untouched.

The conspiracies may even go further as the business entities and the government collude to sacrifice Indonesia's people for their own benefits.

Loans have been performing not as fertilizers for Indonesia's growth, but as fertilizers for Indonesia's parasite.

I believe loans for Indonesia, no matter how soft, need to be stopped.

China: On Loan

by Eko Prasetyo @ 7:06 PM

Chine still needs to borrow a loan? Well, apparently so. Just take a look at this article

A total of 4.5 billion-US dollars of loan assistance would be provided to China from 2006 to 2008, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) said Monday.

That's a lot! And I think that's too much, considering China is now seems so self-sufficient, with a level of self-fulfilling that will envy even USA!!

Or perhaps ADB is acting like a normal bank: giving credits to gain profits later.

Who knows?

Conspiracy Theories

by Eko Prasetyo @ 12:00 PM

Conspiracy Theory #1 : Jihad Puppetmaster's Smell of Oil

Ah, monday morning, walking on carbon monoxide enriched street, with injuries sending impulses of pain from my foot to my brain, that enlightment came.

"What if, the war in Iraq is not the war between Islam extrimists and dubya's puppets, but between oil tycoons and public perception ?"

Well, the unveiled fact that the one at war are the extrimists and USA is quite undisputable, but the fact that the more advanced USA has not been able to squash the lesser civilized extremists is quite unacceptable to my logics.

What is acceptable to my logics is the thought that USA and their allies have been lingering there to give prolonged uncertainty to oil market and causing oil prices to surge high.

I'm sure this thought has occured to some too, perhaps even you.

But what I'm not sure is: have you ever thought that sam's toyboys and idiot extremists are controlled by the same hands? hands that had been dipped deep into blood to be able to put oil out of the earth and control the world's economy.

I mean, in one hand, the puppetmaster has been syphoning money from USA to enrich his military and service industries (think raytheon and halliburton) and with each day the toyboys stay in Iraq, he is getting fatter.

In one hand, the puppetmaster has been orchestrating means to make sure that USA will get the most of oil iraq by prolonging their existences there with his control over extremists that has been launching attacks by attacks in the name of God and freedom. Perhaps the one who has been willing on sacrificing themselves have been ignorant that by doing so they have been indulging the will of the very enemy they hate, totally ignoring the fact that they have been reduced in numbers and strength day-by-day to make their true enemy stronger.

So, by keep on hiding in the darkness and playing on both field, the puppetmaster has been gaining double profits by his remarkable use of the obediences and the fools on both side.

We must aware that this theory may be true and seek into ourselves: have we been fooled with strings attached?

Conspiracy Theory #2 : Bio Terrorism

I was quite stunned when I read a local newspapers headlines which state that 70% of avian population in a national zoo have been infected by the deadly Avian Flu.

70% OF THEM?? 70% of THEM!!

And we're talking about major zoo here with birds numbered in hundreds, close to a thousand !! Conspiracy instincts in me suddenly initiated a conspiracy theory.

Avian Flu has been taking human tolls for the past 3 months here in Indonesia, about 4 people have died already.

Well, my theory is that someone has been cornering government of Indonesia with some kind of "media-boosted bio terrorism". For the past few months we have heard about polio, malaria, dengue fever, TBC, avian flu, mad cows, SARS, and all kind of diseases that supposed to have been eradicated or have sources of their epidemics far from Indonesia.

I have a hunch that a puppetmaster is trying to force his will into Indonesia's government to make them forced to accept some loans or helps to redue the effects of the epidemies, thus make stop to government's vow of minimizing loan takings. With the help of too eager media, the pressure is multiplied.

Also that at the same timeline as the plagues outbreak is the hostile takeover by ExxonMobile on an oil producing area that has HUGE oil reserves previously under control of a state owned company. This event has been significantly reducing government credibilities and make them look more and more like a foreigners pets, not people caretakers.

Either way, the government is cornered. Government that was born out of hope of the people, have been compromising with old, corrupted government, and in the end, have been corrupted also.

Sad, isn't it, how compromises can be used to fuel conspiracies and proppel the wicked upward?

Well, those are my conspiracy theories. Whaddaya think?

Wasted on Study

by Eko Prasetyo @ 4:18 PM

According to this article, money intended to develop a plan for evacuating new orleans in case dire hurricane comes have been plunged into "studying a bridge"

I call that corruption

Well, you americans now know why Katrina turned once a city with some beautiful cemetery sites into swamp that harbors a sign of ruined civilizations.

Corruptions will hurt many people, that's why we all need to eradicate it. As an Indonesian, I know it first hand. I'm living in world's most corrupted civilization on present earth, one that have its people detest and need corruptions at the same time. Corruption is hated when there are signs of it taking away grassroots people chances, but corruption is needed when the same people have to settle things.

But when conflicting interests and rush for needs meet, corruption seems the easiest route to take to settle problems. But it's also the one that will have the most terrifying multiplying effects.

Corrupted Me

by Eko Prasetyo @ 12:00 PM

There are times in my live, I feel that I'm at life's end. When they hit, it feels like I'm totally exhausted, body and soul, and I'll simply lost the interest to do things that I usually do.

Those are the times when I have the Mental Block.

Those are the times when I have the thoughts of stop playing in life and get serious. It's usually I come in terms with my own conscius and come face-to-face with the truth about my life.

Those are the times when I feel that I have been wrapping myself in such an extensive and ugly masquerade used to face the world.

Those are the times when I feel that I've been encloaked in lies. It's usually the time when I feel that without the mask I'll be exposing the dark soul of myself.

Those are the times when I usually think that without that mask I'll be clueless when living my life.

Those are the times when I start asking questions about the things that I have done: why did I do them? why did I stop doing them? why in the end it feels like this? Can I stop doing them? Can I? Can I?

I know that some things, like wasting my office time with reading e-mails, doing blog traffic exchange, chatting, doing marketiva, and daydreaming, aren't worth keeping and needs to be trashed immediately. But somehow, when I get to office the next day, the bad habits reappear without being able to be stopped.

It feels like when I come face to face with my monitor, I lost control of myself and let my soul be taken over by ugly habits. My instinct has become so corrupted with petty distractions. I can no longer able to focus on my office duties.

I know that I have been doing those distractions because of two of my biggest problems: my scary impulse that forces me to gain RECOGNITION from the world, and my unstoppable GAMING mindset.

I know that I have to start learning how to focus and stopped doing the petty distractions right away or I'll gain nothing from my experiences at the office.

I need to focus.

I need to focus.

I need to focus.

NEED TO FOCUS AND SHOW MY TRUE SELF TO THE WORLD

CAN ANYBODY TELL ME HOW?

A joke-telling hurricane:

"Michael Brown, the director of FEMA, was nominated by President Bush in 2003 and plans to start the job any day now." -- Jon Stewart

"Experts say it could take 80 days to drain all of the flood water out of New Orleans. When President Bush heard this he said, '80 days, that's half a vacation.' " -- Conan O'Brien

"He could have started planning on Saturday when the radar showed that a hurricane was going to hit the city, but Bush thinks that the jury is still out on weather forecasting." -- Bill Maher

Boost of Ions

by Eko Prasetyo @ 4:10 AM

Methanol has been showing potencies to be the power source of the future for mobile gadgets. It promises way longer lifetime compared to similarly sized lithium ion batteries and contains less harmful metal too.

Toshiba said its 100-milliwatt version is similar in shape and size to a pack of gum and can power a flash-based player for approximately 35 hours on a single 3.5-milliliter charge.

Now, since I have worked with chemicals, I can assure you that 3.5 mililiter is quite a small wonderful amount of liquid if it can be made to power an MP3 player for 35 hours. It will be suitable for those outdoor weekend where wired electricity is non-existent.

I think we should keep an eye on this one technology

Acidizing Campaign - Day 1

by Eko Prasetyo @ 8:49 PM

Today I believe is the start of Acidizing Campaign that I have been designing since February.

I am not at Kurau yet, since two guys from my division are already there and my boss is taking days off. You can't run an accelaration campaign efficiently with your office half empy, can you ?

But I'll be in touch. Nothing much that can be done today anyway, perhaps a few coordinations of equipments, materials, and accomodations between parties that will be involved in the campaigns will be conducted, but that's about it.

Err..guess not..my colleague just SMSed that they are going performing the well injectivity tests to make sure the well will perform...well when we do the real Acid Job.

Here just hoping my colleagues won't screw up the whole initiation things

And oh yeah, make sure you give them the scanned ID documents that Marketiva will be requesting, or you'll have your account suspended, like what I had experienced for the last 2 days

Teach Math Early

by Eko Prasetyo @ 7:24 AM

So, you find it hard to do math? Perhaps you should blame your parents for not teaching you math as early as 5 years old. According to a journal, children can be taught about simple mathematics as early as possible.

The finding suggests children have an inborn intuition about math that could be used to make learning the real thing in school less painful.

Note that at pre-elementary schools learn maths based on their inborn intuition of numbers. Based on that intuition, I think it is feasible to teach them simple maths as far as multiplying that uses their hand fingers (may or may not exceed it, depends on the children's talents).

And as always, games are the best tools to teach a pre-elementary children.

"A lot of children find symbolic arithmetic quite difficult and tedious, yet the children loved our tasks," Spelke told LiveScience. "They were games, the children were very happy to play them, and they were also they were good at them."

And if we implement this knowledge correctly, there will be a whole new generation out there that will proppel our civilization forward faster because Mathematic is the mother of all logical science .

So, taught your children math as soon as possible

More Lies by Dubya?

Why don't you take a look on dubya's latest reactions-and promises for New Orleans, and you'll feel it in your nerve that USA has been in dangerous situation for far too long.

And with that, the entire world has felt the ripple of his incompetence and selfishness for far too long too.

Now this is interesting. If people manage to put together something like RoboSapiens and these metal caterpillars, I bet in the end they can manage to put together something like Gundam. I just hope that something will not mean our ends.

But combat-purpose robots have been made and haven't seen real wars yet, but I believe it'll be soon.

And why it's always been USA in forefront of technologies for better man-slaughter?

Iraq: Policy's Statistic ?

by Eko Prasetyo @ 8:36 PM

Tell me this is better than Post-Katrina New Orleans and I'll pray that God will send some enlightment in your way.

I mean, people are getting killed daily since sam's toyboys set foot on Iraq, and no one pays much attention on it anymore. No Red Cross banners like post-katrina, no urges to help stop the war, no urges from Top Ulammas to stop the God cursed suicide bombs, no rally from americans to topple their government, nothing.

Somehow, if we see bodycounts get updated regularly, we tend to take it for granted in the long run.

Turning number of war victims into mere statistics is not healthy.

It's not healthy, I tell you, not healthy.

It's just plain sick state of mind.

INDONESIANS WERE THE BEST !!

by Eko Prasetyo @ 6:00 PM

Do you believe in Atlantis ? If so, read this interesting study summary

It says:

The readers who pause to ponder the matter over by themselves instead of merely listening to the often specious arguments presented by other researchers will no doubt conclude that no other location than the South China Sea and Sundaland fit Plato's description: a sunken continent; a tropical location; elephants, horses, pineapples, coconuts and bananas; an abundance of metals and gemstones of all sorts; majestic mountain ranges; an immense plain now sunken; advanced agricultural and hydraulic engineering techniques; an extensive network of canals used for both irrigation and navigation; two or three crops per year; monsoonal rains; an incredibly large population for the early epoch; volcanisms and earthquakes; navigational expertise, etc.. Above all, one should keep in mind the antiquity of Man's existence in the region and the fact that Agriculture and Civilization very probably originated there, as is fast becoming evident.

and

The important thing to keep in mind is that the main feature of Atlantis was its naval prowess and the impressive network of canals and sluices for both navigational purposes, as well as for agricultural irrigation. Such ancient wonders of hydraulic engineering are only find in the Far East in places such as Angkor, and, perhaps, in the Amazonian extensions of the Incan empire, as some recent discoveries in the region apparently indicate.

now that's interesting. Keep on reading..

Actually, the "skeleton" of this primordial Atlantis now forms the Indonesian archipelago, whose islands are the volcanic peaks that remained above the water line when the immense expanse of the Elysian Plains — the mythical name of Atlantis — sunk away under the sea. These islands were then reduced to the Realm of the Dead known to the Greeks as the Islands of the Blest (Makarioi Nesoi). But they formerly formed a vast continent, now mostly sunken under the South China Sea. This huge piece of land was, then, indeed "greater than Asia [Minor] and Libya [North Africa] put together", precisely as Plato asserted of Atlantis

Indonesia is the most volcanically active region in the whole world. In fact, Indonesia is formed by thousands of volcanic peaks now turned into islands, after the submergence of its lowlands. And the region is called by the forceful name of "Belt of Fire". This ferocity is attested within historical times by cataclysms such as the explosive eruption of the volcanoes Krakatoa and Tambora, and of several others in the region of Indonesia. Sunda Strait — the site of the ferocious Krakatoa volcano — is indeed the giant volcanic caldera of this semi-submarine volcano. Lake Toba, in Sumatra, is deemed earth's largest volcanic caldera, being fully 100 kilometers across.

we now at the the most inspiring one:

This distribution of O Blood Type strongly suggests that these peoples entered Europe from Indonesia, via the Indian and the Atlantic Oceans, precisely as legends such as those of Celts, the Romans, and the Greeks claim. Moreover, this distribution also suggests an inroad from the Indies towards the Far East, reaching all the way to the Americas, via Melanesia and Polynesia. In other words, it seems that the origin of this O-blooded population was primeval Indonesia and the sunken lands of the region, the very site of Atlantis.

Plato could not, of course, have foretold such a modern development. But it is far more than a coincidence that the ancient "Reds" or "Royals" (Kshatryas or Rajputs = "Sons of Kings") claimed to have a different blood than commoners, the so-called "blue-blood". Perhaps this is yet another legacy of the Atlantean science degenerated into a legendary tradition on the existence of a superior race of different blood destined to rule the others.

Catsoline

by Eko Prasetyo @ 12:49 PM

well..it seems there is a potency that our future cars will be fueled by... CATS

No, no, no, the cats need to be dead in order to be used, they will not be forced to spin small generators to produce electricity (although that will be a good idea)

Basically, the cats carcass will be decomposed and fermented and the gas produced will be used to fuel the cars.

Basically, it can be done to many animals which have been turned into road pizza. Just drop them to the processors, collect the produced gas, and put it into your car's fuel tank and whoilaa...you're driving !!

Bomber Waves

by Eko Prasetyo @ 4:05 AM

Have you read the recent wave of suicide bombings in Iraq ?
Have you ever read such things to exist before dubya decided to sent his toyboys in?
When will he allow his brain to take control of him before God decide to send something bigger than Katrina?

It seems that wherever Sam's Toyboys marched in, things go from bad to nightmarish. And The Toyboys are everywhere nowadays, feeding on USA's taxpayers money and implanting USA's Capitalists parasitic systems in.

But what can I say? Such is the what lone superpower can do, right? Stepping everyone's toe claiming that the toe is his and not the victim's.

It seems nowadays, reality means a bunch of ideals buried deep inside layers of self-contenting masquerades

one final note: have you read this?

Scattering

by Eko Prasetyo @ 7:33 PM

More and more that I dwell into the cyberworld, more and more I found potencies that we humans have.
Just take a look at the internet and the blogging phenomenos..people are putting out their thoughts on the cyberworld in order to get recognition or just some offloading of their thoughts.
And take a look at how internet changes the way people use gadgets, from GPRS to iTune, from Text Messaging to watching digital TV on the go, cyberworld linked the people to their content of dreams.
And just take look on how smart people changed their loneliness into an excuse to get serious on robbing other people's money:no gun, no riots, just some cigarettes and cups of Java, and they'll be few digits richer.

Oh, the cyberworld, a place where being normal is being able to type hundreds of somehow weird pairs of : and ) and | and ( to express emotions to other.

Ah, I am such a person where those weird pairs mean a lot..and now I'm no longer able to express myself like I used to ..all because that damn IT outsourcing company's director have decided that YM is such a time consuming useless activities..

Don't he knew that it's an efficient way to reach vendors or clients if it's used correctly ?

Or perhaps he had been seeing people who used it incorrectly

Aah..time like this make me glad that alternatives will always be there...in this case, in form of googletalk

so, for you googletalkers out there, put your google ID on the comments and I'll contact you !

Template Fixation

by Eko Prasetyo @ 7:41 PM

Finally smoothed out the template of my blog. All margins are in continuities now, and my blog seems to be more contained. Had to be satisfied for now.
I simply unable to wonder whether my blog is better to have 2 columns or 3 columns? I mean, one column for gallery, one for main content, and another for informations seem to be cool, but as people have said, it put the main content into least priority.
With 2 columns, one for content and one for everything else, my art gallery must be put lower in the sidebar. I can only hope that visitors to my blog will read all of the articles in my main content, that way my readers will be able to catch a glimpse of my artbar, and hopefully will look at it.

I put so many good things on my artbar

Now..when will that YPN come out of beta phase??

Text Tax!

by Eko Prasetyo @ 7:22 PM

A member of legislative body here in Indonesia had just given us, the poor, parasited, and fooled people of Indonesia, the idea of taxing our short message service to give more income to the republic.

I say BULLSHIT !!

I think the bastard has just realized that SMS has given mobile operators such a GIGANTIC amount of revenues, and he had found a way to fatten his belly more by trying to tax the SMS !!

I bet the man-eater will have plenty of followers and thousands of protesters for the idea. But as usual, our own impotent and idiot government will see this as an easily implemented breakthrough, like usual, and unable to think the consequences to the poor souls that are their subjects, like they always do.

I bet they'll promise to make the gained income for the benefits of the people !!

I mean, there are so many examples on how the government can actually gain revenues from the current source of incomes. Reducing unnecessary items in the budgeting, for example. Battling out corruptions, for another. CUTTING THE FUEL SUBSIDIES, for more.

And for one ultimate example: PUT CORRUPTORS TO DEATH !!

Corruptors are the maggots that have been eating away the very flesh of my country, and now one of the maggots have shown that he didn't have enough of the flesh !!

And the government have not been able to put a stop to them cause they have the same political genes as those maggots. They are the children of the maggots !!

And for them, THIS :

Self Sufficient China

by Eko Prasetyo @ 6:17 PM

Zhang Guobao, Vice Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), said on September 10 China is not only a big energy consumer but also a big energy producer. China would address the energy issue mainly by relying on domestic resources.

Now that's a country that has been growing steadily and have enough independence in its energy needs...not like my own country who got robbed here and there of its energy resources, from my own people and from foreigners..

Just imagine, a pipeline 1 meters (3 feet) in diameter and 7 miles in length has been used to smuggle crude oil out of this country !!! 3 FT IN DIAMETER AND 7 MILES IN LENGTH !!!

AND AUTHORITIES FOUND IT JUST RECENTLY!! HAVE THEY BEEN BLINDED FOR ALL THESE YEARS??

Liberty raped by Fear?

by Eko Prasetyo @ 6:59 AM

MI5 has concluded that some liberties must be sacrificed to prevent future terrrors.

The world has changed and there needs to be a debate on whether some erosion of what we all value may be necessary to improve the chances of our citizens not being blown apart as they go about their daily lives

They forgot that terrors are mostly come from those who has their liberties taken from them. From those whose minds are at their wits ends, unable to free themselves from the thoughts of gaining liberties through extreme measures.
They are the depressed oppressed.
I think, the best way to prevent terrorisms are to make a fair and balanced liberty across all humankind, across all nations.
The first way to do that is to reduce our self-service mindset and think more about the balance in our life. There'll be nothing to lose in doing so, except a few profits.
Wise ones say that friendship worths more than money, so why fear losing a few coins over losing chances to gain friends (or even loyal followers)?

Illusion of Independence

by Eko Prasetyo @ 6:06 AM

No one knows why Indonesia's fate seems to be engulfed in misery since its conception. When our founding fathers proclaimed our Independence 60 years ago, we are hoping for freedom from oppresions, freedom from fears, and mostly: freedom from occupations.

Yes, when we declared that we are a nation of our own, we stated that we shall stand on our own two feet, free from any external intervention, free to do as we wish to our lands, free to enjoy its riches, free to pile our own wealth.

Under the leadership of our founding fathers, we survived through two Dutch's Military Agressions. We also survived various attempts conducted by people who wished to dissect our then young republic.

We survived when Republic of Indonesia were just a tiny piece of the fragile and conflicts brewing Federation of Indonesian States. We overturned the Federation and embraces the pathetic states into one strong United State of Republic of Indonesia.

We survived through our first years because we were one in spirit, one in mind, and one in action. We act as one giant force that was succesful in pushing away any oppresors that stepped their boots on our lands.

We were ONE !

But what happened later? What happened when the oppresors acknowledged us, left our lands, and let us build our nation by ourselves? What happened later was an irony. Irony because we were strong enough to push aside our differences in the face of the oppresors but we were not strong enough to do the same when facing ourselves.

We began dissecting ourselves by the time the oppresors left our land. First by some of us who declared that they were unsatisfied and separating themselves from us. Although the smells of foreign interventions were strong, the one who performed it were nonetheless parts of us. These rebellions were then crushed by our government with help from us. We stopped the dissection because we still believed in our unity.

Then we began dissecting ourselves when it's time for us to do democracy. I mean, there were 50+ political parties to show how fragile our unity was. It felt like it was time for some local barons to finally display their desires to take control of the riches of the lands who had been controlled by foreigners.

I guess 350+ years of oppresion had made those local barons more than eager to snatch a share of the wealths for themselves whereas they had never been able to do so when the foreigners were still here.

And thus, those political parties began long history of dissections made by our own leaders. And we followed them blindly, unaware that by doing so, we were weakening our long fought freedom. By the time our unity waned and our freedom weakened, oppresors came back not in boots but in whispers and promises.

And although we are still what we are, Republic of Indonesia, we no longer have our freedom. Those whispers and promises have been taking control of our lives since the rise of Communism, and the rise of Capitalism that took over later.

Since capitalism, we have lost our independence completely and still we have taken it for granted.

We have been robbed ever since and we know it but have been doing little mostly because the robbers have given us a small share of the wealths they robbed. There seems to be egoistic self-survival sub-conscious in us that make us bow to the might of the capital owners and do whatever necessary to keep ourselves alive.

We have been occupied again, not by weapons, but by capitals. We are being occupied from top to bottom . Our governments have strings attached to them. Our businessmen have strings attached to them. And we let ourselves being attached to them.

From the day we declared our Independence, it seems our leaders have been capitalizing on one thing: our slave mindset. The majority of us, who has been kept from getting proper education, will bow to their leaders unconditionally. This has been creating an atmosphere of dissections cause there are so many leaders that have this kind of blind followers here in Indonesia. Those leaders are ready to put their followers into fights for powers, and the followers are ready to put their lives into fights for powers for their leaders. This condition is just right for the whispers and promises. It will be easier for them to take control of us. And they have done so effectively.

That's how our independence changed from a hard earned trophy into an illusion of freedom. Now, how shall we changed it back to reality?

India vs China

by Eko Prasetyo @ 1:25 PM

This may be a sign that China recognizes India as their closest rival on reaching world capital domination.

As you may already know, both are large countries and both have been accelerating their growths for the past decade to a level that may have made some old capital dominators shiver and decided to ride the two boats.

China is currently hoarding all of natural resources they can gather, and India is currently world's most interesting place for IT companies to outsource at.

Let us see in the future what will the two become. As for now, maybe you have to learn two more languages in order to survive in the future world.

Let us call them China The Awakening Dragon and India The Rising Diva.

Bush: One of The Worst Disasters to Hit U.S

Scarred Ones Have Spoken

by Eko Prasetyo @ 10:11 AM

For those who wanted to know what has been said by the victims of Katrina, go to this nice page. Well, not all of them are blaming dubya. BBC has done a nice job on posting a balanced article.
For Americans, read these quotes:

What you see in New Orleans is a perfect example of the downfalls of the welfare system, a form of socialism that many in this country know is the true problem. You have seen the pictures. You people think it is race, but it is not. It is the welfare society that was New Orleans.

The government might have failed but the people of America didn't. We are as proud of our country as anyone in the world is. Our government is not what (we the people) want it to be. You can bet your life it has changed the way we look at our government and the way it does business for itself and not for the welfare of its people.

It took the EU 24 hours to get supplies to New Orleans once Bush had formally requested it. How come it took a week for him to request outside help? And more importantly how could they respond in 24 hours while it took a week for US teams to get to work?

The government of USA, like all other business encroached governments, have failed. And by the name of God, Americans, PUT THEM TO REST !!

Dubya Got Shot!!

by Eko Prasetyo @ 10:50 PM

A minister in Germany told the press that dubya must be shot because his government are so impotent when taking care of his own homeland wellfare.

Anyone not agree with the man?

Dubya also promised that the victims of Katrina will receive a long haul

I think you Americans know about dubya's promises, right? They are all lies.

Ah, The Fault

by Eko Prasetyo @ 6:41 PM

Saw the bus I took today hit a makeshift fruit stall with its side-mirror and caused the roof of the stall to fall. The owner of the stall went shouting, but he didn't approach the slow moving bus with strong determination, but with somewhat hesitant walk and stuttering blabbering.

It was the bus fault that he lost his roof..but it's also his fault that he put half of his stall on the road. Added with the fact that bus drivers are mostly gang members here in Indonesia, you have the reason why he was hesitant to put a complaint in the face of the driver.

When two are the wrong ones, one with more wrong friends wins.

Next Threat

by Eko Prasetyo @ 8:54 PM

Well, well, well, it seems Americans need to be careful (or needs to get rid of dubya and all of the evil side of the petroleum industry out of USA) because a volcano is in the process of being born (or it may seems to be)

Now, I wonder if this apparent wrath of the earth will make americans think?

Save The Kids

by Eko Prasetyo @ 8:40 PM

Maybe this is a sign that today's world is by no means a safe place to be, especially for our heirs. Kidnapping, Molesting, Blackmailing, Abduction, Irresponsible TV shows, Violent and Sexplicit Video Games (hey, I'm an adult, I don't against them..if they're used by adults), More times with nannies, diminishing parental care, and many others have put our future at risk.

With adults killing or neglecting each other and children are put at risk of being destroyed now or destroying each others in the future, our Earth seems to come close to its end. What options do we have on saving our future than realizing that new chances are bring out to this world each seconds by the birth of our children.

Just think of it: Children are like a new dawn each time they're born.

Castro Offered Help

by Eko Prasetyo @ 5:20 AM

This might be a blow in the face for dubya and his goons.

Cuban President Fidel Castro has offered to send help to the United States in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

At a nightly roundtable program on state-run television Friday, the Cuban leader said his nation was ready to send 1,100 doctors and 26 tons of medicine and equipment.

"Others have sent money; we are offering to save lives," he said.

Castro, a thorn on side for USA for long, is offering to help their long time enemy. The offer seemed significant too.
Let's wait whether dubya will receive it or will let his pride gets in his way and turned down the offer.
In the meantime, let's do whatever we can to save those poor people whose lifes got turned upside down by the storm.

Time

by Eko Prasetyo @ 1:00 AM

I have been thinking about time lately. Why did civilization have the concept of time? Did our ancestors conceived the concept of time to justify their aging? Did our ancestors felt that there are boundary to their activities that need some definition? Which come first: Time as boundary, or Time as measuring stick?

I believe time was conceived because our ancestors felt that there are something BIG and VERY INTANGIBLE but affects their life CONSIDERABLY by giving limits on every aspect of their lives. That limiting aspect migh be realized from their own observations on their own aging process, from the diminishing of their supplies, and from the changing of generations.

They might have felt that there had to be something to measure what had gone before, to solidify the boundary of their memories, to gain some guidances out of their regrets, and to give foundations on what will they do.

They might felt that there are similarity for Past, Present, and Future. They might felt that those three are in truth one entity.

That entity, that absolutely limiting aspect, that element of their life that washed off what had past and propel them to what they they were, and what they would be is TIME.

And what, after the aspect had been recognized, that our ancestor did?

The majority of them might first worship it as a divinity, having felt its dominant aspect to their lives, and forced themselves to bow before its absoluteness. They prayed that Time would gave them good chances in live. They prayed that their futures would be fruitfuls. They prayed that Time would not give them short boundaries to their life. They believed that Time held their lives and thus must be pleased.

But History, another aspect of Time conceived by Man to accomodate the records of what had been swept to the past by Time, acknowledge those who saw Time is merely a limitation set for them by God. Parts of those who had these enlightening than set out to make Time more intangible. They tried to conceive more definition to time. They researched and spent part of their lives to give some means to measure Time.

First, they realized that Time works like a perpetual wheel, circulating, rotating, and endlessly moving forward, sweeping to its back whatever comes to its way. They realized that the sun and moon are the most visible signs of this property of Time.

But it was not enough. They need more accurate signs, they felt that time needed to be measured. And through much efforts and research, using their combined concepts of the wheel and the numbers, they created second, hour, day, season, and year.

Finally, they believed that they had reached their goal: a touch on Time.

Now, time can be measured. Past and memories can be given measurement on how far they are from us now. Erasing regrets can be justified if they are so much parted from us. The more distant Past is from us, the stronger the reason for us to heal our wounds.

And the more distant Future is from us, what has been swep away by Time to the past may become more important. Sensing this, Man has been collecting notes, writing things to record what's taking place, and put it into History what may someday be opened again to light his way into the future.

Time is a powerful entity, but it gets so tied in into Man's life that sometimes Man forgets that it's there. Man has been frequently leaving his past empty or in awful forms, and has been known to regret it.

Future, the uncertain aspect of Time, is like an empty sheet that may be filled with a copy of the present or may be filled with something that looks like a copy of the past with variations that are put there by Civilizations. And repeatedly, Man has been making a copy of his monstrous pasts written into the future.

It is Man's job to keep Time meaningful, to make from the turning of Time something good. It is Man's responsibily to learn from Past, to keep Present in balance, and to prevent the Future from becoming a copy of dark records of the Past that are kept in History.

God says:
In the name of Time, humans are at lost, except those who keep their faith true, who performs beneficial deeds, who reminds each others of the rights, and who reminds each others in patience.

we must not be at lost.

Undying

by Eko Prasetyo @ 11:04 AM

See this and believe me it raises questions. Why would humans live forever if living means seeing horror everyday and being forced to think that surviving means compromising with their inner voices and bowing to the evils that have all the money?

I know, not all are living like that, but most do. Those who haven't are just lucky enough.

And I believe some who are lucky must share their luck with others.

I think that's why I stick with being a moslem: the zakat system.

One of the most important principles of Islam is that all things belong to God, and that wealth is therefore held by human beings in trust. The word Zakat means both 'purification' and 'growth'. Our possessions are purified by setting aside a proportion for those in need, and, like the pruning of plants, this cutting back balances and encourages new growth.

Zakat is the amount of money that every adult, mentally stable, free, and financially able Muslim, male and female, has to pay to support specific categories people.

This category of people is defined in surah at-Taubah (9) verse 60: " The alms are only for the poor and the needy, and those who collect them, and those whose hearts are to be reconciled, and to free the captives and the debtors, and for the cause of Allah, and (for) the wayfarers; a duty imposed by Allah. Allah is knower, Wise." (The Holy Qur'an 9:60).

The obligatory nature of Zakat is firmly established in the Qur'an, the Sunnah (or hadith), and the consensus of the companions and the Muslim scholars. Allah states in Surah at-Taubah verses 34-35: "34:O ye who believe! there are indeed many among the priests and anchorites, who in Falsehood devour the substance of men and hinder (them) from the way of Allah. And there are those who bury gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah. announce unto them a most grievous penalty- 35:On the Day when heat will be produced out of that (wealth) in the fire of Hell, and with it will be branded their foreheads, their flanks, and their backs, their flanks, and their backs.- "This is the (treasure) which ye buried for yourselves: taste ye, then, the (treasures) ye buried!" (The Holy Qur'an 9:34-35).

What's wrong with Opera 8.0?

by Eko Prasetyo @ 8:24 AM

This is something I haven' told you about, but have to tell you anyway.

You see, I'm a loyal user of Opera internet browser version 7.54. It has been giving me almost everything I need to browse the internet: Fast loading time, great compability with websites, fast download speed, e-mail client software, and RSS client software.

But, since Opera is not a mainstream web browser, few sites have been failed to be loaded perfectly, some of them includes the infamous gmail. Also, Opera lacks the "load images from the originitaing site only" feature that helps me do traffic exchanging efficiently using Firefox. So, when Opera 8 launched and promised full gmail compability, it feels like all my need will be fulfilled. I didn't upgrade right away because I'm afraid that the data I have accumulated while using Opera 7.54 will be erased and I have been too lazy to make back ups of them. But finally, last thursday, I upgraded (after making backups) to Opera 8.0.2 by installing it to the same directory where my Opera 7.54 installed.

Soon, I felt that something is not right with Opera 8.0.2.

Okay, gmail is now fully supported. Thanks God for that.
But, a site, fotografer.net was not loaded properly, with its vital site navigation features suddenly missing.
Then, I got so confused with the new navigational features which somehow not as intuitive as Opera 7.54, with some features removed or relocated somewhere not immediately found.
Finally, BlogThis! and Technorati This linkbar buttons are not working!! BlogThis! feature has become a part of my blogging life, making it broken feels like taking an important part of my life.

Those flaws forced me to downgrade back to Opera 7.54. I have given Opera the feedbacks regarding these flaws. Til they made adjustments regarding those flaws, I will not upgrade to Opera version 8 and will keep using my Opera 7.54.

It feels so wrong that an upgrade fixes one feature and breaks other features.

Natural Disasters

by Eko Prasetyo @ 9:12 AM

Katrina turned New Orleans into a lake with remnants of a city scattered inside. Many lost their lives and livings. Some even went further as saying that Katrina had given USA their next big test after 9/11. It even might have given inspiration for this and forced gasoline prices to surge hinger and one football team to leave Superdome. It even had scattered a grim diaspora.

Are you a victim? Put your voice here. This is the chart of Katrina's path of destruction. And a helicopter was shot when they are evacuating from a New Orleans' stadion. It seems unrest has been growing there and losts are unbearable.

People have opened spare rooms for the evacuees.

New Orleans mayor had issued a SOS and dubya had been rumored to have a visit. He has said something anyway.

Germans blamed USA for the surge of oil prices, partly because some oil refineries were affected when Katrina hit.

These are the Katrina's effects at a glance.

Looking at the pictures of what remained after Katrina, I remembered December 26th, 2004. Tsunami hit many parts of Asia, taking hundreds of thousands of lives and uprooted many cities. It is quite amazing (and scary) what natural power of the elements can do to human's civilizations. You can't blame nature entirely, as it works on natural laws set there by God. Warm air here, cold air there, ocean in the between, and you got one hell of a wind that brings tons of water that goes hammering your city. Put your city under the sea level and it will be turned into lake when those tons of water got dumped into your city.

It is quite interesting that God had said that humans were created to manage and improve earth. Some might say that we have done so, but many others will say that instead of improving earth, we are improving ourselves and put earth into accelerated destructions that in the end threaten to destroy us as well. Many belief that Katrina and her family of trees uprooting hurricanes are the results of global climate changes, especially global warming. Global warming happens because human's civilization has been burning petroleum fuels and using chlorofluorocarbons for decades, emitting excessive amount of heats and hazardous chemicals, turning parts of atmosphere into a huge heat container and forcing it to do "balancing things" by directing cold air into the overheated parts. The bigger the differences, the faster the balancing speed.

Thus you got Katrina and her siblings.

So, if you are experiencing natural disasters that involved the raging of atmosphere, think about preserving the usage of petroleum fuels more.

Budgeting Miss

by Eko Prasetyo @ 11:17 PM

I lost track of my budget records. It's all because I have been neglecting of taking records of my expenses and my incomes ever since I went to Kurau. It feels so DEPRESSING. Not to mention the fact that I seem to lack 1 million rupiahs (or about 100 US dollars) on my calculations.

Darn. No more of this kind of slacking again !

CONDOLESCENCE

by Eko Prasetyo @ 7:12 AM

My heart is for the victims of the Katrina Hurricane. My God eases your griefs and gives meaningful new starts after the storm.
Pray it will be the last of the hurricanes.
