Clicksor

by Eko Prasetyo @ 11:05 AM

Tinkering through my blog template and doing previews, I was surprised that finally I saw something interesting done by clicksor codes put on my template : It changed some relevant words into advertisement hyperlinks !! Not even AdSense have ever done that!!!

I have been suspicious that the code have never worked -because I have never seen such hyperlink conversions done on my blog- but I suppose it's just clicksor's limitations. They are not as big as AdSense, they haven't invited that many advertisements, so conversions will be scarce and far between. But the potency is there, and it will give bloggers more flexibility on obtaining small revenues through their blog.

And there's one more : Cliksor gives more share of profits than AdSense !! (i think..)

So try Clicksor now!!

The Demonic Circle

by Eko Prasetyo @ 8:26 AM

According to a chart on this site, everytime there's a war in Iraq, Oil price rises to above US$ 60.

Hmmm..I wonder whether Dubya and Bald Semit has read this before they decided to trample on Iraq. Has Saddam Hussein become a part of this drama all along? He was there when Iraq waged war to Iran and caused oil price to rise to above US$ 60, and he was there when dubya trampled on his land and caused oil price to shoot above US$60 once again.

The fact remains, we are in a world where oil price has been rocketing to US$60. The effects? One is the rising of petroleum based fuel types all over the world or the rise of amount of subsidies needed to maintain consumer level fuel prices at "safe civil psychological level", two is the rising of spending done by oil companies to rise productions or simply to experiments with things, three is the rise of economic risks and uncertainties, and four is the forming of demonic circle by those who aren't willing to let oil price down (i.e dubya and the bald semit). Five is the lessening of purchasing powers of those whose income is below acceptable standard of living.

The rise of petroleum based fuels is very inevitable and a mandatory. Petroleum is the only raw material for this industry, thus the rise of its price dictates the rise of the final products : gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation fuel, asphalts, waxes, LPGs, LNGs and so on. General consumers, you and me, feel various kind of effects. For those who don't have their fuel prices subsidied by their governments, the effects can be felt right away. For people like me, whose fuel prices are subsidied by their governments, the effects may be less than what it should be.

World real economic industries - the non-real economic industries are things like stock markets, insurances, bankings, anything that related to intangible assests- costs are dominated by fuel based costs, directly or indirectly which includes raw material transportations, power generations, product transportations, staff transportations, and even foodstuffs costs are effected by the price rise. These costs alone are enough to put burden and adding chaos factors to companies budgets.

No matter which policy governments enact regarding fuel prices, they will have headaches. The rise of oil prices will give surge to industrial costs, will be forcing the governments to somehow lower taxes or let the industry rise the price of their products. If that's not the case, it will add significants impacts on government's spending budgets regarding subsidies. Reducing the subsidies will make the people react negatively. Maintaining the subsidies will make the government somewhat crippled. Balance must be thought carefully or otherwise both government and its people will go down to oblivion.

We don't want that to happen, do we?

Next, The rising of spending done by oil companies to rise productions. Well, being a (Petroleum) production engineer in an oil companies, I have been concocting elements to make people do "acidizing" on some of our wells. We have never done this before, so imagine the headache I have been gone through since FEBRUARY (!!!) to make things possible (or rather to force things to become possible).

If the oil price has not been this levitating, I may ended up still doing heat exchangers and vessels and stuffs or helping others doing pump uprates and those downhole tools stuffs..but the oil price rose, and my boss seems confidence enough to make our company bleed some money to do this new stuff (somehow I got the feeling I am the guy who must do new stuffs...first heat exchangers, then condensate stabilizers..then that AFE thing...). Other divisions are adding more wells, putting more holes on the wells casings (or "REPERFORATING"), or have been trying to crack open the wells formations (that is called "FRACTURING"..big stuff, big money...scary risks).

Well..this is turning into some personal diary..let's get serious again !

Based on my own personal experiences, petroleum industries service companies have been very busy lately fulfilling oil companies need to do stimulations to their wells hoping to increase oil productions. They said they have never been this busy before and all basically said the same thing when asked why: "Oil price has never been this high, Sir !!" It's a good enough reason.

One question has been plaguing my mind though : will this good reason be good enough to justify any efforts to keep oil price high? Oil well stimulation service is an industry, and with every industries, there will always be need to increase profits each year. When the oil price goes down, so will their profits.

They have reasons to maintain the orbital level of oil price. Halliburton has dubya on strings, wonder who Schlumberger has, france's leaders?

As for risks and uncertainties, it is quite obvious enough. Oil price has been ascending and descending quite unpredictable lately. Unpredictability is mother of uncertainties and uncertainties mean higher risks for industries. That means higher insurance costs, higher hedging funds, wider range of risks calculations, and generally higher level of overall prices. With the growing percentage of intangible assets owned by a company, uncertainties bring more unconfidences and thus grow more threats to industries. Intangible assets are sometimes enough to become the decisive factors of a collapse of a company (Enron anyone? What about A.C Nielsen?).

As for the demonic circle..who want to lower their profits? There even rumor that the reason why Arab countries not doing enough to prevent dubya from molesting Iraq is because they have foreseen the rise of oil price. There may not be enough efforts done by many oil exporting countries to convince dubya to leave Iraq alone because they are enjoying the high oil price. Dubya and bald semit may even try to organize efforts to keep oil price high. 2 oil refineries have been burnt in USA alone. The paranoid in me whispers : dubya. Add that with that hypothesis on oil service companies, we may see oil price on top of the world for long.

Five is the lessening of purchasing powers of those whose income is below acceptable standard of living. It is unavoidable, with the increase of oil prices, many have been hit considerably in their pockets. Many are losing jobs or have to lower energy consumptions drastically.

Due to this high price, many have their souls deteriorated, many are losing their livings, and many have ended their lives.

Some will say high oil price is good, some will say high oil price is a curse. Let us all pray that good will come out of this chaos eventually.

Contact Lenses

by Eko Prasetyo @ 7:57 PM

I just realized that that funny feeling when I take a look at their eyes is the result of seeing that something has been done to their eyes : The girls of my office are using contact lenses. (No, The Girl doesn't seem to use them..funny, I thought she was the most fashionable one..)

They bought them together. A pack of girls buying contact lenses must have made some optician happy.

One of them, the most obvious one, are using green lenses. That make her eyes look so...intimidating. Another is using purple contact lenses.

Only one of them have used glasses previously. Pure style? It seems so.

I have though of following suit..but after considering that I'm a lazy bastard, I decided to not follow suit.

Instead, I'm thinking of buying a new pair of glasses : frameless frame (oh, you know the stuff) and with lenses that can go darken when are hit by the getting-dangerous-day-by-day sun's UV-ray. I also need the extra shading when I'm out in the field, tending some wells. The sun can be so CRUEL when is greeted in the field, not to mention that I have to see upward so many times, causing me to winch my eyes and adding that freckles and wrinkes on my face faster than it should be.

And it can protect me better from the UV that comes from my monitors, at home and at the office.

Now...if I can find a time slot to buy a pair before my next assignment to the fields.

Another Oil Price Rise?

by Eko Prasetyo @ 8:54 PM

BPN platform wellheads were hit by one of the large work boats in Mumbai High North around 4pm today. BPN platform is gone. You can see part of it falling in the water in the last few pictures. Over 300 people were on board, so far only 2 confirmed dead. There are 3 choppers and Coast guard picking up people from the water. A lot of people jumped, apparently.

Noble Charlie Yester (NCY) rig is hidden by the flames that look to be going right into its derrick. All personel were evacuated for platform and rig. No word yet on them. The NCY evacuation should have gone well as they had some warning.

Hmmm..this is a bad year for petroleum based economy. Platforms by platforms are hit by disasters. Iraq's oilfields are not secure enough (blame DUBYA !!), Nigeria has been hit by workers strike, a petroleum refinery in USA was burnt down, wells are being put into experiments by booming oil companies thus endangering, and God knows what other oil producing countries are being targeted by USA.

I have been thinking that our current petroleum (and imaginary economic inflation) based economy has been showing signs of ailing. Oil consumption is rising while the oil stock is reducing. Imaginary fears of will not get enough oil to fulfil their needs, due to recent accidents that hit some oil companies and rising level of terrorism, have forced consumers to let the oil market puppet masters put the price at neck-choking level. Economy has been taking hit for this oil price spiking phenomenon.

And it all started by dubya.

Before he decided to trample on Iraq, oil price has never been this high. Terrorism levels are somewhat lower than today, and the world was more peaceful place to be. But after he and that bald jewish rose, world economy has been on the receiving ends of their lifesucking acts, not to mention that every being in the USA is now in debt (well, go around the blogosphere, you'll see some that said USA has mountanous debt).

All while China is becoming more and more prominent, eating out every pieces of the west civilization it can grab.

Third day into the job as a comittee chief, I changed my pace and recruited more. I think I forced the "Event Organizer" section enough, I'll let them go on their own till next tuesday. Accomodation is somewhat taken care of. And I think it's high time for propaganda and t-shirt.

Ah..living as a chief of something uncertain...life is just filled with many certainties..that's why some speculants thrive.

And somehow, this chief status drained much of my lifeforce...I can't philosophize clearly...

Ah..I know..It's high time I live my words written in my own "How To Be A Good Political Party part II" article.

Yep, need to learn from myself more..

Why Did I Take It?

by Eko Prasetyo @ 6:02 PM

Now that I have been at the helm of a camping comittee on my office for 2 days, I am wondering why I took it at the first place anyway?

It's just so out of the blue. The camping itself was announced by much senior officer at the company, and the next day, I was appointed chief of the comittee and did not refuse it. I began composing comittee at the same day, and hold the first meeting at the same day

I think it's just my sub-consciousness that thought it's a good way to unite the youngsters of my company to do one activity together. It has been my ambition for long, to make them as one, do things together, negate the uneasiness they have with the company day by day.

Now that I have accepted it, the responsibilites seem to be vast and large enough to be measured by my current experiences.

Or it's just I am just curious, as usual.

Ah. Whatever the cause, I need to make this as succesful as it can be.

Wish me luck !!

How to be A Good Political Party - Part II

by Eko Prasetyo @ 9:40 PM

I have written this piece a very long time ago, before I entered real world and become somehow polluted by it.

I have said here my view on why should we build our country with cooperative base more than capitalism. It is the best bridge between low class based communist system to individual based capitalism system.

I don't know how many of my ideals are still with me, but I think I'll start digging them up by trying to write this sequel.

Part I talks about how you start building your parties as representatives of network of cooperatives that you have built. By doing so, you will reduce the need to raise funds from outside of your circles, cause you already have the profitable cooperations as basis of fundings. Also you can have a strong adherence and loyalti to your party like no other parties in the world ever have. People from all of professions will join their respective cooperations, and thus will have a tendency to become member of your party.

They say trying to grow something is much more troublesome than trying to conceive them (try sex, for example, and pregnancy that results from it). Now, growing your party will be difficult. Not all will agree with your views. Some will try to use you for their own plans (it happens, so be aware). Some will try to rob your followers and make other smaller parties using the same idea you have been using. Of these, be aware that the cure may not be from your own, but from your followers. You need to know more of your followers, your fellow party members. Some of the more useful one will be hidden from plain sights. Some of those who shines will not be suitable for the survivals of your ideals. Try to mingle a lot, try to be mobile, try to touch them all while they are still small enough number to be touched. People are the keys to survival of the party.

With minor influence from the outside (namely those hypocritic businessmen and politic cowboys), you will have less obstruction to be independent. Use your independence fully. Try to be vocal from time to time, but try to keep it logical and look low profiled. If your voice is out of logic, you'll be deemed as the same as other parties. If you play it high-profiled, strong parties, business godfathers or freelancer politicians will try to stampede on you for sure. Your party is still budding, you still need to walk cautiously and act wisely, but with independency written all over your acts.

Since your base is economic (cooperative is a form of economic institution), be active in giving out ideas on how to make economic laws more feasible to your followers, and do so in good intentions. Your followers will mostly be lower class citizens, so pay more attention to their prosperity. Make your ideas suit them best. Think on how should the laws comfort the nature of the cooperatives more than the nature of pure capitalisms to get full support from your grassroot followers.

Be creative, supportive, independent, vocal, and cautious.

I wanted you to know I love the way you laugh
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away
I keep your photograph and I know it serves me well
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain

‘Cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t feel right when you’re gone away

You've gone away, you don't feel me here, anymore

The worst is over now and we can breathe again
I wanna hold you high, you steal my pain away
There’s so much left to learn, and no one left to fight
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain

‘Cause I’m broken when I’m open
And I don’t feel like I am strong enough
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t feel right when you’re gone away

And I don't feel right when you're gone away

You've gone away
You don't feel me here anymore

Music To My Ears

by Eko Prasetyo @ 6:23 PM

It seems that one of the feature that will and MUST appear in cellphones (or cellphone capable mobile devices) is music playing capability. It just so irresistable and a feature so overwhelming that all in the mobile device industry, makers or consumers, thing that they must have music in their phones. Some even put dedicated music button(s) on the keypad rows.

Thanks iPod! Your father is a genius !!

It seems trendy mobility in this latest century is identical with having tiny music generating speakers close to your ears with their cables connected to a tiny pocketable devices that carry hundreds of songs in its magnetic based storage device. Large Stick

by Eko Prasetyo @ 7:39 AM

What should you do if you get lost in a jungle with no map and no compass to guide you and you have no means of defending yourself?

Find a large stick !

That mundane thing will not be so mundane anymore if you get lost in a jungle unprepared. There are so many functions a large stick can provide you while you're lost in a jungle. It can serve as a kind of weapon to defend yourself from some small and, if you're brave and strong enough, large animals. It can serve as a club to kick small animals and fishes to death so that you can eat it (burn or no burn, your choice). It can serve as a tool to pick up some fruits from tress for you to eat. It can serve as a flagpole in case a helicopter hovers around your head in an effort to rescue you. It can serve as a guide tool when you're inching the unpredictable jungle floors. It can serve as a markmaker so that you can avoid going around in circles.

It can serve other functions depending on the creativity of the users.

Fill

by Eko Prasetyo @ 5:10 AM

I just need to post an entry into my blog this morning. Well, I'm basically out of inspirations to write about anything but this story of lack of inspirations. Really, I'm out of everything that is needed to write one quality blog entry.

Last afternoon, while I was stuck inside a bus which was stuck inside a traffic jam caused by a narrowing of a road caused by some construction planning, I was thinking about what philosophical idea should I write then post into my blog? I was thinking about the continuation of my "how to be a good political party" entry or my "Cooperation" article. Those two are the golden eggs of the time when my philosophical mind was still at its purest and my spirit of free-speach is still at large.

Now? Now my mind is filled with Acidizing Job, picking girls to catch, investments, watching movies, and taking pictures. It is just like what I have written before : Office is somehow killing inspirational parts of my being.

I have even forgotten my "Preachers" writing : "Preachers:Influences". Forgot that I should continue it with "Preachers : Powers" article.

I was a philosopher back then (my take, how about you?). Now, I have this feeling of being a lost soul, unable to decide what to do next. I even lost inspirations on what to do at the office. Everytime I step into my cubicle and got seated, it seems parts of me are shut down and turned on again everytime office hours end. I know it's not a good office attitude, but somehow I got terribly saturated with this "ACIDIZING" things I have been doing for almost to 6 MONTHS (!!) without proper guidances and even without proper availability of documents (I was more excited when The Girl is still tending the engineering documents. Now that she is doing other documents in other floor...)

I have been thinking about whether there are some "chemical imbalances" inside my head.

Or perhaps it's just my lack of eagerness to eat dinner lately : I skip on them more frequently lately than before. I have realized that I was such an overweight lazy brat, and have been thinking that doing some push ups and sit ups might change it. First trial suggested that my hands are unable to withstand my weight, so I have been limiting my food intakes. Doing that while increasing physical regimentations proven to be not such a good idea. My brain has been attacked by "ghosts" that "whisper" of some lethal depressive thoughts. I have to stop limiting my nourishments in the mean time, enough to kick away those "ghosts that whisper" and buy me time to evaluate the results of the physical exercise. I will not stop my physical exercise, even if I can only do 10 push ups in a day, I will do it.

I am sorry. I have written that I will write less about myself and give you more about my philosphical insights, right? Well, please pray for me that I will conform to what I have written.

Please pray that I will not be another lamb integrated and therefore lost inside the turnmoil that is office life.

Noise

by Eko Prasetyo @ 4:19 AM

I woke up today and turned on my PC. It was a very quiet 3.30 a.m, and the noises generated by the fans dominated the room before I turned on WinAmp and put my speaker into power. It was enough to cover the noises, and it was surely a good way to wake up the neighbours.

Now, I wonder why those silicon makers doesn't try to make a niche market of noise conscious customers? I mean, one in which they deliver cool, no-need-for-cooler-fans processors. So instead of focusing on racing in the speed lane, they concentrate on making more comfortable personal computing experience.

I am sure there will be many people who will buy the noiseless PCs simply because of their comforts. There are many people out there who will spend money for comforts.

Besides, noiseless PCs are healthier for your soul. It is not causing all of that sub-conscious discomfort you'll realize you're been having it once you turned off your PC.

So, intel and AMD, why don't you focus on cool and noiseless silicons instead of all of that power hungry and room heating fast lane processors?

by Eko Prasetyo @ 8:00 PM

All I need was just a healthy dose of medicined to kick out the pain in my left lung, and all is well now.
My mind seems to be clearer.
Something seems to be steered into my direction.
It feels like I have to make a strong decision soon.
Making big decisions. Something that I have not been able to do lately.

I decide this : I'll reduce talking about myself and start writing my opinion on what's been happening on the world.

This is what the blog was in the start : a place to display my thoughts. It's been turning into a place a boy whines, not a man thinks.

Heck, it is named "A Thinker's Shared Spot of Stories of Living". It's been "Stories of Living" more than "A Thinker's".

Things must change.

It seems Chevron will gain some more after Caltex. Unocal is giving itself into its hands. Wish that my country's state-owned company has this kind of patriotism.

NEVER DRAW IMAGES OF PROPHET MOHAMMED! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!

It seems Bird Flu is the latest human murdering infections that set foot in Indonesia.

Well, well, well, it seems Sony can't stand on its own nowadays. They need to team up with Konica Minolta to gain more in Digital SLRs market. It seems to rhyme with Sony-Ericsson....

Microsot is at uproar! One of its top warrior defected to Google!!

Somehow it's his habits to praise the wrong person : dubya praise the aussie's baldhead

Now, it seems there's one britons up there who still has the right mind. This dude said "West created Terror!"

Feels like I lack some freedom lately.
Feels like I have to let go myself more often lately.
Feels like I need to just go and trust my instinct.
Feels like I must forget how others judge my look.

I am a wild child, feels at home when doing like one.
I am a man of no standards but my own, got my blood pumped if I am one.
I am a man of not my words, but my actions.
I am a man of loneliness, of dreams, of arts and of thoughts, no need to throw them away.

I need LIBERATION !!!!!

Sensing

by Eko Prasetyo @ 4:12 AM

Ah..sometimes I have a strong feeling about something. When I can't find my thing, for example. I sometimes feel no need to mourn for its lost, I am confident that it's not lost, and I found the missing thing later. That's the case with my Sandisk 512 Megabyte USB flashdisk. It have been ''out of sight" 3 times, and each time I felt that it wasn't lost, and it wasn't.

Sometimes I have a strong feeling of choices I have to make : Is it the time to choose? Do I need more data to choose? Should I just forget about it?
Sometimes I can be so clueless and make the wrong choice.
Sometimes I decide to go "what the heck" and make my way anyhow. Most of the time it works. When it doesn't work, I take a lesson from the failure.

Lesson to further sharpen my intuition.

Do Cry!

by Eko Prasetyo @ 7:30 PM

A month away from Independence Day of Indonesia, and it seems a day not to be proud of.
Let's start with the fact that recently the honorable congressman (who has been known also as milkcows for the parties) asked for more money from the government in form of a raise in salary. They said the raise will make them more concentrated on their job. Bullshit if you aks me. Some of them said that they need the money to be used as allowances when they visit their constituents (the everfooled people of the nation). Cow's dung if you may say that. Some of them said that the money is needed so that they can look good and appears charismatic. Compulsive liars.

Some said their parties need the money to stay strong and healthy. Huh? THEIR PARTIES CAN'T SUPPORT THEMSELVES? THEY NEED TO USE PEOPLE'S MONEY TO STAY HEALTHY? NOW THAT'S DAYLIGHT ROBBERY!!

Let's just say that one finely educated woman said she cried when she thought about this over and over. She thought about that self-satisfying gluttons and then she thought about hungers phenomena that made it into the headlines lately. Yes, she thought about their selfishness. Yes, she thought about how loathsome their greeds are if they ask (I would say "blackmailing") the government to give them more money when the government is at their neck trying to keep national fuel supply safe. Yes, she thought about how shameless they are when they think that robbing people's money is the only way to strengthen their parties when there are high numbers of cases of Bird flue, polio, TBC, Malaria, and Chikunguya present.

She thought about how heartless they are that in this time of need for high efficiency in governing the nation, they act to suck more of the blood of already ailing nation.

Don't they realize that the nation needs to keep careful eye on its spending because of the rising price of oil? Don't they realize that their acts have given more reason for people to laugh at Indonesia's already laughing stock status?

They said their current payment is not enought to support their life. Ask a small time street musician will that amount of money suffice?

He will say : "I can live with one dollar a day, so that kind of money is enough for me to buy heaven"

Well, I'd say : "Dude, those guys are not interested in buying heavens..they are interested in buying condos for their mistresses so that they can dig their pussies deep with their dicks every night!!"

Suffice to say that these guys have their bowels for brains and their dicks for hearts.

It feels like somekind of psychic force is trying to expel me out of the office.
It feels like the parts of my spirit has been crumbling one by one.
It feels I have to go somewhere out of every other places I use to be.
It feels like I am not being alive at the office.
It feels like what I am just an afterthought, a thing not worth look at.
It feels like I'm being outcasted.
It feels like I'm being unguided and let loose.
It feels like I'm losing ground.
It feels like I'm losing my spirit.
It feels like somekind of boring nightmare I have to live everyday over and over.
It feels like I have to ignore every one else and put my life above elses. It feels like I have to set myself loose and uncontrolable.
It feels like I'm bored with the current direction of my life and need to go to another direction.
It feels like I have to grow some teeth and tear some flesh.
It feels like I am turning wild.
It feels like I am simply tired.

I need to close my eyes. Why did I choose this path in the first place?

Clinton and Sex seems to be a very newsmaking combo : Hillary Clinton take on GTA: San Andreas sexually explicit content seems to be personal and so not liberal.
Wise men say nothing cannot be forgiven. I think Iraq's PM is about to prove that by visiting Iran. If this is succesful, God knows what comes next : Israel makes peace with Palestine?

Eleven soldiers who had (suspectedly) done violations in Iraq are facing charges.
There will always be People's Power in Manila. But this time something is amiss: who leads? Last time it was Arroyo, who is now the victim.

There was peace agreement reached between Indonesia and the Aceh rebels. It's been hitting the rebels since Tsunami.

Iraq's court began to prepare charges for the "Saddam Hussein" they had held custody. I am still wondering if that is the real Saddam. Surely it will be better for him to be kept in jail by his allies, but doubt still grips me.

CNOOC vs United States of America

by Eko Prasetyo @ 9:50 AM

China National Offshore Oil Company is one part of an alliance made by some of the oil companies that operated on Malacca Strait Area. Since my company is small one, I thought CNOOC is a small one too. But the news that the company had made some top brasses of USA got thorns on their seats opened my eyes: CNOOC is large! It is large, owned mostly by the Communist Goverment (70%), its able to outperforms other bidders for UNOCAL, and its part of China's ambition for controlling world most important resource, Petroleum, for its own usage.

Now that's A Nation for you !!

Capitalistic China, which have been growing at quite an alarming rate, is an awaking giant and the most potential Superpower of the future. It already has traits of a superpower: seeks to control its own resources, sets its own standards of information technologies, buying cheap technologies from other countries to be developed further at home, and gives a lot of lures for foreign investors to come and set shop here (Not even Corporate America has been able to resist the lures), and its every economic decisions put waves on every equity markets all over the world, and it has a very strong government who has hands in every parts of the country.

So strong, not even America is able to implant its own people effectively into the government.

Now, back to CNOOC. We know that it has been offering more money than other bidders to take control of UNOCAL. It makes one congressman, Duncan Hunter, rose his voice over concern that if CNOOC is able to take over UNOCAL, it will threaten USA's energy security. He also took note that dubya and his gang of corporates lackeys have not been doing anything significant concerning the issue, it seems they are waiting who shall provide the best of the greenback, jeopardizing the security of the energy supply or not. But to be noted, USA's governments have been known to be very paranoid when it comes to the security of the energy resources. A single Superpower intends to stay that way. Many top brasses will raise concerns that's in tune with Duncan Hunter. It shall be heard whether their concerns put the government in defensive moves or their loyalties to the greenbackl be proven furthermore.

SO, CNOOC vs USA, in short, is a war for oil, much the same with Iraq, but without the humvee or the jihad. If CNOOC takes control of UNOCAL, it will make it an owner of many big offshore petroleum operations, put threats to USA's energy security, provide a new cause for the rise of oil price : China is hogging its own petroleum and will not sell it to the world, and somehow an indication of USA's powers dwindling down.

Now, let's take a look at Indonesia. It's been having fuel shortage, its oil production is mainly for export, it has been importing fuels in an amount that exceeds crude oil it exports, and the government has hinted that it will give rights to operate a large and prospective oil field to Exxon Mobile who has done many malicious and suspicious legal practices before, instead of giving it to PERTAMINA, who is 100% owned by the government. The government representatives in the business discussions between the government and Exxon Mobile are one liberal economic practicer and one former politic watcher turned PR spinster. Where are the oil guys? They are too smart, to neglecting, and to out of place in the government.

Not a nation with pride, right? RIGHT!

Get to hate Indonesia while living in it, from it, and have to support it. Such a harsh dilemma.

Think! Think! Think! - July 16th, 2005

by Eko Prasetyo @ 6:56 PM

Well, well, well, something hits me when I was doing some thinking : It seems I do a lot of thinking. The thought of me doing a lot of thinkings has been succesful on making me thingking about the thinkings. I was thinking about going home when suddenly I though about how out of place I was in that mall. Or I was not thinking about anything when suddenly thoughts fill up my mind in an instant.

Perhaps thinking a lot is all there is about being an adult (hey, thinking of being 25 will give you conclusion that you are not a teenager anymore). You think about all the money that you have spent, the money that you will be getting. You'll think about how to catch a girlfriend out of the masses of that single woman out there. You'll think about what the hell have you promised to your friends about. You'll think that there are so many things out there need to be thinking about.

Or perhaps this state of mind of mine is a result of continoulsy doing something previously unknown to my company and me.

Boss came:
"Design a heat exchanger!"
"What type?"
"Go figure"
"The data?"
"Think about it yourself"
"Oh, Okay.."

So I was thinking about what the hell is a heat exchanger that an oilfield needs?

then Senior came:

"Inspect the vendor!"
"What to do?"
"Go figure"
"What if I.."
"Please, just make your brain works!"

So I was thinking about what the hell is a heat exchanger that an oilfield needs and how to arrange a transportation to the vendor's warehouse

then Pal came:
"Check my english"
"Can you think about it yourself?'
"Oh, just think about it, boss scolded me because of this!"
"Geh!'

So I was thinking about what the hell is a heat exchanger that an oilfield needs and how to arrange a transportation to the vendor's warehouse while checkin Pal's english

The Girl passed by, she ignored my hello.
"What the...What was she thinking?"

So I was thinking about what the hell is a heat exchanger that an oilfield needs and how to arrange a transportation to the vendor's warehouse while checkin Pal's english and got disturbed by the fact that The Girl ignore me...

And then one YM chatwindow popped up. It was Bio Girl
"Hi there" and chatting begins

So I was thinking about what the hell is a heat exchanger that an oilfield needs and how to arrange a transportation to the vendor's warehouse while checkin Pal's english and got disturbed by the fact that The Girl ignore me and tried to balance things out in the chatting with Bio Girl..

Now, add that to the fact I was waiting to an e-mail from blogexplosion which says "Your blog has rocketed.."

Thinking about how much I have been thinking about things make me thinking : I need to stop thinking or I'll get addicted to thinkings and in will need some therapy to remedy some "chemical imbalance".

Now I just have to think about how to stop thinking...this will need a lot of thinking, I think...

There are many ways to avoid paying debt, this man did something new and might be a vert brilyant way to solve all of his problems : He shot a postman.

It seems greed will be greed as rich countries are using IMF to protest the agreement made by G8 to erase debts from the poorest of countries. Why do I smell dubya in this sudden occurence?

It seems liberty are being taken slowly each day from the common man. Someone had the idea that skipping ads in Japan is illegal. Now that's something.

Well, being a moslem and all, I think this condemnations made by clerics to London Bombing is a great way to erase subjugations already felt by the moslems there.

Misty Days - July 15th,2005

by Eko Prasetyo @ 7:52 PM

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us Maybe we should blame this one to dubya too, he seems to be the perfect scapegoat for everything wrong in recent world. The weather has been hectic across the globe, with storms raging one after another in mexico gulf. Here, in Jakarta, the weather has been hectic too. I believe that in elementary school I was taught that June should be the drought season, with sun blazing every day and the sky is clear blue and the man are all sunburnt Tanny and the news of forest burns starts to pop up everywhere across the nation. But not this June and July, they have been a very hectic month full of clouds and lightning and acidic water pouring into the earth every magic hours of dawn and dusk, resulting in a very humid night and foggy morning here, in Jakarta. All colors outdoor have been tinted with gray when seen from the height of my 31st floor office.

This kind of weather have been disturbing me lately. What have been bothering is that when the drought season finally comes, it will be a very long and dry season. People will start losing water supply everywhere, and as usual, the governing people will begin pointing fingers at each other, and clerics and wisemens will start blaming why don't people store water when it was plentiful to face dry days. It has happened before, and I believe it will happen again. Such is the characteristic of post-Soeharto era : endless finger pointings Grrr

And judging by the look of things, it seems Jakarta will be soaking still for days to come. I have been leaving my umbrella at home the last two days. It made me wet for 2 days. Brrr...

Photoblog : Panoramic Oil Well Scenery - July 14th 2005

by Eko Prasetyo @ 7:50 PM

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us Finally, I'm able to post this one. It's been a month or so since I took the pictures that were sketched into this one panoramic photo. This is one among 3 sets that could be stitched together by Canon Photostitch nicely, other 2 simply have obvious lapses in the results.

This outcome has made me wondering whether I should by a tripod or not..tripods are expensive things, you know. And I haven't been able to justify buying one. I mean, I know I simply can't make a good panoramic photo without taking the will-be-stitched photos with great accuracy and stability. Optimum stability can be obtained if I use tripod (or simply having a sniper-caliber hand and eye stable coordinations). I am wondering right now : If I buy tripod, that means I'm into photography seriously.

A tripod is not exactly a thing you can slide in into your backpack easily. Not to mention that there are not a single review on tripods that I know of. It will be hard to find one good that match my style other than relying on talked opinions and gut instinct.

Gamble, Reincarnation - July 13th, 2005.

by Eko Prasetyo @ 7:10 PM

Some high brass of Indonesian police force has made an extravagant claim that he is ready to wipe out gambling (which is have always been illegal) in Jakarta in less than a week. A bold claim, I might say. To them who knows the real underground gambling world, the claim can be considered either as empty words or suicidal note. Empty words because gambling has been fattening some of the dogs in the police force, and it will be unlikely that those dogs will not be barking, clawing, or biting some forms of defense inside the police force themselves, because they have chains around their necks that will be their deathstring of gambling's grandmasters will them to be.

It is a suicidal note because gambling already has its roots and claws everywhere in the city. Gamblings and all form of nightsins (stripteases, drugs, alcoholics, murders) are presents in Indonesia, and they live mostly together. They have form an industry that gives HEAVENLY revenues each night. And like all those movies, they will pull out their claws and start ripping apart anyone who dares to disturb their presences. It will not be easy for the bragging brass to wipe out this well established dens of evils, it will take months to detect, locate, chase, and close any ventures while resisting resistances from the enemy or from within themselves.

Three days seems to be an impossibility.

Or perhaps it is possible to do it. Perhaps it's just a lipservice. Perhaps the brass and gambling has made an agreement and arrangement on how and when they will play a drama of "Big Gambling Termination". Perhaps it will just be a jargon soon forgotten, like every jargons before it.

Perhaps we can still see hope...

Save The Energy

by Eko Prasetyo @ 4:13 AM

Or try as best as you can to conserve oil usage. This is what the theme of the campaign the government have been running lately, backed up by a regulation issued by the head honcho. I am absolutely agree with this one. With oil price soaring as high as US$60 dollar per barrel (average lowest obligatory labor payment? US$ 70), there's an absolute necessity for the government to try as hard as they could to keep the people of this republic from wasting oil.

They have been giving examples of not using their suits while doing ceremonial events, reducing the necessity of air conditioning, as they have said that it will reduce oil usage if office buildings set their air conditioning to 25 degrees celcius (wondering about the level of coolness inside cars). They also aks TV stations to cease airing from 0 to 4 a.m in the morning. This, I believe, is hardly an impressive example No. It will be more impressive if the members of congress and senate lives close to the meeting hall and not spending more time wandering around acting as debt collector, or there's healthier, more civilized, and more numerous public transportation modes around. Or there's a regulation that hinders the explosive growth of traffic jamming, fuel ravaging, polution augmenting mode of transportation called motorcycle. Perhaps getting rid of that peddlers selling all that illegal trinkets will make the road back to its intended width and function Rolling Eyes.

Perhaps a curfew will make a lot of impact in oil usage.

An experts once said that one of the biggest factor of oil wasting are traffic jams. Well you know traffic jams already : all of that fuel got burnt inside non-moving vehicles. he said that if everyone get rid of their ego and use public transporation instead, we'll save A LOT of fuel. He also said it got worse by the fact that VIPs usually are given priorities on using roads, thus increasing the probability of fuel got wasted. He suggested that they use helicopters instead, because in the end it will make less holes in the government's pockets.

Perhaps the consumption will lower drastically, the roads will be free of jams, and there will be growths of public transportation modes, if the government just simply cease to give subsidies for fuels. Oh yeah, there will be mental breakdown everywhere, but in the end living will be better, cause in the end people will seek balance of their life, and they will live more efficiently, reducing unnecessary consumptions such as cigarettes and heavy cellphones usage.

One fact: while living in a poor, debt trapped country, Indonesian people are the most consumptive people in the world !!

Over the Limit - July 12th, 2005

by Eko Prasetyo @ 7:38 PM

I satisfy my hunger on internet by subscribing to cheapest ADSL package that is available in Indonesia. At roughly US$50 per month, I get 500 megabytes of allowable data traffic (up and download) quota per month. Any excess will be charged per kilobyte.

Now, let's see...Reading500 megabytes per month means roughy 16 to 17 megabytes per day. That's enough for me usually, since I have set my opera to display cached images only. For news, I rely on its newsfeeds ability, meaning I can get about 200 headlines each and every day (now you know the secret behind my biting news of the day). For that all I need, 16 Megabytes is usually enough.

But why did I call this post "Over the Limit?"

That's because, my dear reader, I have been unsatisfied by how my blog looks. I keep on changing and changing my blog, tweaking the template here and there, previewing it over and over, activating the image rendering of opera so that I can see my blog fully as it's taking shape. It has been a marathon between my ego and my budget conscious self. So far, my ego wins.

I have this trait that everything mine must have my own distinct style on it. My PC, my scanner (ever heard of mustek scanner before?), my Cellphone (a siemens M65, tough and rare), and on and on and on, till that ego hits my blog. Since then, my ego has cost me and my blog. I have been spending a lot of time to learn how to shape my blog according to my whim, my blog have been altered so much it looks strange now, and each and every day, I overuse my daily data traffic quota. Well...considering this and all that will be coming in the future....

I think I will be over the limit this month Devil

Prophecies

by Eko Prasetyo @ 8:16 PM

Propechies, things without logics, things that go out without being analyzed, things that resonate more with ambitions than with truth. Things that are the exact antithesis of sciences : baseless, biased, illogical, and unpredictable. Yet in this age of sciences and technologies, prophecies continue to live. In their simplest form as astrology or in their grandest, most hyperbolic prophecies of the return of Jesus and the rise of Imam Mahdi.

It seems technology plays big in advancing the existence of body of man, but has pathetic role in advancing the existence of soul of man. So that in order to fill his soul, Man seeks things that seemed so different to technology.

Religions play big role in the continuing existence of prophecies. The return of Jesus, The Armageddon, the rise of Imam Mahdi, all signs of end of time. In this age of wars, hungers, greeds, and imbalances, menacing prophecies of end of time such as these feel like at place in the heart of restless and void humans.

"Come, walk with us, in this age of ending. Come, embrace Allah and bring forth his hellfire, as your soul too shall be cleansed in the fire that you give to the enemies of God !!!

"Behold, the power of Christ is true, God is smiling and coming closer to earth as his army gains victories !!

Prophecy say that in this age where George W.Bush reigns, Christ shall come to Earth when all Jews have been converted to become the lambs of God. This prophecy helps dubya continues his reign of terrors, lies, and deceptions. Those who chose him and still proud protector of his reasons have faith in what their preachers say about end of time and their victory, believe that what dubya's been doing now is the best a man can do to ensure the victory of church. Lame justification for some mass murdering for oil, I say !!

Prophecy say that in this age where Indonesia is the worst yet biggest moslem country in the world, a man who shall be called Imam Mahdi (Praised Leader) shall be born and rise. He shall be the scion of Tamim Tribe, born from the lineage of Ali bin Abu Tholib. He shall wipe out anyone who opposed Allah and brings justice and balance in the world. I know, I should defend this one...but this one is just one more reason to say that Islam is clinging to something unreal to sooth it's own wrecked condition...

Prophecies are just that, lame excuse to believe in something for some lost and weak souls. We are humans , born into this world to manage it, to prosper from and for it. To keep it in balance as we make it better.

We are parts of God, we are born into this world so that when we return to Him we are of better souls !! Those who can't be better souls will be cast into the fire and be cleansed. This is one prophecy I can accept. This one is the truth. It has truth's most important trait : Neutrality.

Biting news of the day? This one, of the a lowlife and the most innocent lifeform he was holding died in a gunfight.

Ah...the end of days...somehow it can be made a justification for why I don't have to have a girfriend...

Condom and Government

by Eko Prasetyo @ 5:23 PM

From a friend's friend:

condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of pricks, and gives you a sense of security while you're actually being screwed.

Power to Waste Money and Biting News of The Day :10 July 2005

by Eko Prasetyo @ 5:27 PM

Power to Waste Money

Indonesia's head honcho tossed a party to celebrate his son's wedding. The party was celebrated by celebrities, from pop industries to political clans. Enemies, Friends, Spies, Clerics, Sinners, all present in one place. To honor the wedding. As always with socialites , they were there to keep values from To keep image. To add value to self. To be not left behind. Let me remind you that this one parent to was chosen to lead because people believed he had the right composition of values needed to free Indonesia from its trappings.

Let me tell you one thing : his party made a town went crippled. The party caused major roads to be blocked. Roads, which supposed to be owned by the people. Roads, the veins of a city. Roads, where lives go forth and about to function. It was not an emergency procedure, just the top guy celebrating the wedding of his son. A guy who supposed to be a servant to people, not sabotageur of their life !!

Public transporation drivers got pissed off because they couldn't do their job and lost their incomes for the day. Other people couldn't go to where they suppose to be at that day: to works, to families, to place of worships, or maybe to the nearest hospitals to save life. This is simply a celebration that hurts more than make people happy, and it make me feel sick.

Some people said that that was normal. "Hey, it's the President's child, he has the power and money to toss a huge party, so let it be. What can we do about it anyway? It's only a day!!" Can't blame them though. They simply so used to authorities stomping on their heads that they accept this as part of their subjugated life. Me? I simply can't take it !!

This one leader supposed to be a model for humble behaviours, modes livings, wipers of corruption and liberator from subjugations to their people. But he turned out not the one. He is slowly turning into what has become of the general before him : corruptor.

A prominent preacher here in Indonesia said the reasons for someone to become big moneyspender are stupidity, arrogancy, jealousy, laziness, and lack of faith. Stupidity causes someone to spend money on something that in the end will not benefit him. Arrogancy causes someone to spend money on something because he simply can. Jealousy causes someone to spend money on something because others do. Laziness causes someone else to spend money to support him. Lack of faith causes someone to spend money with uncontrollable behaviours.

Now take a look at the head honcho. He made a big party where every top brasses of Indonesia came and caused his people to get annoyed. Not something worthy of his presidency, I assume. He is a looser already .

Just hate it to see that my country seems to go deeper into the spiral when we thought we are climbing up.

Biting News of The Day: July 10, 2005

What happened when Himalaya is melting? Sir Edmund Hillary got announcement to make, that is.

In London, it seems that the police needs to adjust their nose, cause there is a possibility that the attacks were made by britons, not Al-Qaeda. And the bombs themselves are thought to be sophisticated ones. And Bush, as always, got something to say about it.

It seemed Gloria was getting some religious lifts to stay at Philippine's seat of power, although it was somehow not whole.

Happy Sunday, everyone.

My Blog Ver. 3.0

by Eko Prasetyo @ 6:30 AM

With the succesfully implemented Artbar and Adbar, and the relocation of my profile into the heading, I finally managed to come ver 3.0 of my blog. The Artbar is a sidebar located on the left which contains my comic pages and my posted photos. The Main Content is located in the middle, and the last one is the Adbar, which contains referrals and advertisements. Now that it seems Google AdSense has turned deaf ears on me (not even a reject e-mail has come), my best (and seems futile) hope for revenue is the amazon.com books located there...

Yeah, I know, it looks horrible right now. I am still considering the colorings. I don't have much time and data quota needed to make it beautified with graphics and such, I Planned to use only tables to make things simple. The contents are everything in my opinion. Maybe in the future (if all ADSL services are unlimited services here in Indonesia) I'll try to redesign it with pictures (maybe in ver. 4.0) to make it look presentable. Hey, who knows, if I have unlimited ADSL services, I will start a podcast here !!

So, in the meantime, please bear with the look and delve into the contents. It will make you satisfied !! Roll

Welcome Back, Cammy and Biting News of The Day: July 9th, 2005.

by Eko Prasetyo @ 8:43 PM

Welcome Back, Cammy

Indefinite length in waiting is tiresome and annoying. The anxiety will be multiplied if you are waiting other people while they mend something you dear so much. That's how I feel when I had to wait for more than 3 weeks while they mend my dearest Cammy. Thingking how she will be far away and in others hands while I can't even have the time or the capacity to look what were they doing was building prejudices and all negative thingkings in me. Oh, that tormenting time of waiting, the relieve that it has come past is great and very heartwarming.

Cammy is back, in my hands, and in good conditions. Now I can take pictures with her again. Every touch to her curves feel like old memories coming back, soothing, cleanse me of the scars from the torments from the time of waiting. All of her abilities are intact.

It is nice to hear her came back to live, turning on her display, and making a nice mechanical sound of 3x optical zoom lens ready to take some pictures. Lovely Cammy, my dearest Canon Powershot A95 is BACK and TAKING SHOTS!!

Hey, I'm not a gadget-fetish maniac, I just love my things so much I make your heart melt !!

Ah, Cammy. I had troubled deciding which one I should choose: you or that slim but dumb Dimage X-1. But In the end I chose you, because I know you will make me better. You have the abilities to choose what you think best for me. You also gives me choices for me to choose between tastes that suit my condition. And finally, you are able to give me freedom to do what I like with you...

So Cammy, welcome back ! I promise I'll be tender and keep you away far awy from harm's way from now on...

Now Cammy, let us see what the world offers us today, shall we?

Biting News of The Day: July 9th, 2005

AMD versus intel is surely a neat topic to follow, Cammy. here is an analysis on how it will affect the industry. I told you, Cammy, bulldozing domination is not a good thing.

Your cousins, the cameraphones, were parts of the London Catastrophe, and they gives us pictures of the aftermath up and close.

It seems fair that the topic, Africa, is given the chance to speak their share of thoughts. And Blair spoke on terrorism and billions in form of >aid to Palestine. L Bombs victims reached < a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/2/hi/uk_news/4663931.stm'>50 with Arabians say "ENOUGH!!" and the poor bus driver giving us his thought.

Power is sweet, even when you are being poked from all directions, like this philippine lady has tasted. She refused to go down and announce plan to make new cabinet.

It seems this year is the year of storm. Dennis is roaring across Cuba.

People will be stunned by the fact that 1500 sheeps jumped to their death in Turkey..

Ah, Cammy..let us claim back our time together, shall we ?

Sick, am I?
